Stuck with incomplete dental treatment or untreated dental problems in this lock-down? Here are 10 ways to keep your teeth clean and avoid that toothache when you know you cannot visit your dentist for quite sometime.
Clean your teeth with toothbrush and toothpaste twice daily for 2 minutes.
Avoid using home remedies for tooth problems like clove, garlic, alum.
Experiencing pain associated with any teeth? You can apply ice on that area covered in a clean cloth externally which can help you out with your pain temporarily.
DO NOT apply heat to the area associated with pain, it may feel good temporarily but it might lead to worsening of symptoms later. And you definitely don’t want that in this lock-down situation.
If you have incompletely treated tooth, avoid eating from that side. Especially hard food substances.
If you have any dislodged filling or cap, avoid using that area of your mouth while eating, and try and keep it as clean as possible.
People tend to not brush properly in the area where they experiencing any kind of discomfort or pain, but cleaning each and every part of your mouth is very important. So, you have to make sure even the infected/ incompletely treated part of your mouth is clean to prevent further discomfort.
Gargle using any fluoridated mouthwash or salt and warm water everyday at least thrice. This helps to prevent formation of new cavities in your teeth.
Avoid using toothpicks, instead you can quickly brush and floss the area where you feel you have something stuck!
Avoid taking over the counter medications for toothache, instead consult your dentist online or over the phone, as he/she might be in a better place to prescribe medications fully aware of your dental history.
